Increasing Saliency of Mobile Money Product Fees

Background: Mobile money products have changed the way finance and banking is conceived in the developing world. However, the convenience of these products does come at a cost, and often a very steep one for users at the bottom of the pyramid.  Mobile money providers are fairly transparent about their price structures, however these prices are not typically available away from agents, where most transactions occur.

Scope: Busara was engaged by a financial sector research organization to understand the mobile money usage in several target markets and understand how behavioral barriers could be impeding full consumer awareness and sensitivity to existing price structures.
