Alessandro is a Senior Associate for the Busara Center for Behavioral Economics in Nairobi. His work focuses on access to finance, exploring in particular how FSPs can fully capitalize the power of data to design more inclusive solutions. He has worked with private and public sector clients in projects ranging from analysing consumer credit in Tanzania, FinTech startups in Kenya on how to increase product uptake and reduce default, and exploring data privacy understanding and concerns amongst low income people in Kenya. Previously, Alessandro worked as a Senior Economist for the Financial Conduct Authority, the UK financial service regulators, and for CGAP, where he was exploring the potential of crowdfunding for emerging markets. He holds a MPhil in Economics from Oxford University and a BA in Economics and Econometric from Exeter University.
