Emilia Rubooga


Emily joined Busara as a Project Associate in August 2017. She is based at the Busara offices in Kampala working on a technical capacity building project led by Busara. Emily has more than eight years’ experience in human rights programming, research and advocacy with a focus on governance, child protection, and care, inequalities in maternal and child health outcomes, child poverty and social protection more generally. Emily has worked predominantly in the non-profit sector in diverse contexts including Liberia, Tanzania, and Uganda

Emily seeks to learn and explore how to create social impact; and is looking to work on and get involved in assignments to help drive the adoption and implementation of shared value strategies and practices that can contribute to poverty reduction, the well-being of communities and environmental sustainability.

Emily received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Makerere University.
