Tilman joined Busara in August 2018 as a Research Specialist in the team of Johannes Haushofer. He works on a range of projects, including laboratory studies analysing patterns of economic decision making under stress, and behavioural consequences of economic inequality.

Prior to joining Busara, Tilman has conducted research on the optimal design of trade networks in developing countries, studied labor market dynamics in arduous real effort environments, and developed tools to detect early-warning signs of deforestation in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Tilman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from LMU Munich, a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Technology from Technical University of Munich, and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford.
